January 08, 2017A value based care mindset calls for a value based care toolset. Conserus Workflow Intelligence helps radiologists demonstrate their value to the rest of the enterprise. It’s a rules engine that helps you get information and tasks to the right people at the right time. With this automated solution in place, you can match demand to supply and use your available resources and talents most effectively.
This solution is flexible, configurable and vendor-neutral. It consolidates a radiologist’s entire set of everyday tasks into a dynamic worklist and uses up to 99 levels of priority to determine which ones should be read first. The user interface is color coded so users can easily see which studies are the most urgent. It’s also dynamic, so a study’s priority level automatically adjusts and it moves to the top of the list as it becomes more urgent. It can even be configured to send alerts if studies aren’t read within your defined time period. It helps you close communication loops between departments and facilities
Whether your healthcare system involves one facility with a single PACS, or is a complex, distributed environment, Conserus Workflow Intelligence can help you make impactful, measurable improvements in areas like turnaround times and case prioritization. And once you’ve measured your progress, you can easily reconfigure your rules so your workflows can get more efficient.
Conserus Workflow Intelligence helps you improve quality and efficiency, all within your regular PACS workflow. To learn more about how it can help you improve communication and turnaround times in your health system, watch this brief video.

February 29, 2016Learn more about McKesson's Conserus Clinical Data Exchange.
January 04, 2016Contributing Editor Greg Freiherr offers an overview of enterprise imaging advances at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2015.
December 18, 2014McKesson is committed to working with facilities to adapt to the new healthcare reality in both an effective and cost-efficient fashion. The vendor does this by providing a suite of enterprise solutions including: "McKesson Enterprise Image Repository" Brings together all the scattered images from numerous isolated systems into the image repository (VNA) and helps provide a single view of the patient's imaging history, accessible from anywhere across the enterprise. McKesson Clinical Data Exchange: Manage, share and access patient images and clinical documents anywhere in the enterprise or across a region from any common Web-enabled device or workstation by leveraging the IHE cross-enterprise document sharing (XDS) integration profile.
March 22, 2013McKesson highlighted enhancements to its cardiovascular information system (CVIS) version 13. The system offers new modules for electrophysiology, inventory control and aids interoperability for better change capture and data mining. For more information, visit www.allaboutCVIS.com
July 18, 2012McKesson's new Enterprise Image Repository, featured at the 2012 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting, facilitates the sharing of images and data both within and outside an organization. It enables sharing of data with referring physicians and also among different departments, all at an affordable cost.
July 17, 2012Retention Management is a new feature of McKessonâ??s Enterprise Image Repository (EIR), offering the ability to delete data that no longer needs to be retained. It provides the flexibility to set different parameters according to different policies and requirements. System Dashboard is a new tool in the EIR which helps administrators manage and monitor how the system is performing. These features were showcased at the 2012 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting.

Those hospitals include Beaumont Hospital, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Sligo General Hospital and Waterford Regional Hospital.
NewsDecember 8, 2011 – The U.S. government has awarded McKesson its digital imaging network / picture archiving and communications system (DIN PACS III) contract, allowing the company to sell PACS and related sub-systems to all branches of the U.S. armed forces and civilian defense department agency facilities. The deal is valued at a potential $30 million through the contract term, which initially runs for two years with an additional two years of options.
TechnologyThe latest release of industry-leading radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) from McKesson has both infrastructure updates and usability enhancements that bring greater value to medical imaging workflows ? from order entry, to data storage, image analysis and report distribution.
Feature | Helen KuhlAlthough computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems have been around for a few years, only a few vendors really embraced the market with robust offerings and only a few healthcare providers showed interest in adopting them — until the 2009 passage of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). After that, the landscape changed considerably, as many providers wanted to take advantage of reimbursements available in meeting meaningful use (MU) requirements and the rate of adoption grew significantly.
Case StudyDesert Radiologists is a high-efficiency practice in Las Vegas, Nev., that performs 1.25 million exams per year with a staff of 45 radiologists. Yet the practice operated with an outdated and overloaded picture archiving and communications system (PACS) that had no common worklist, no flexibility and could no longer handle its daily imaging volume. Additionally, as Desert Radiologists’ imaging volume continued to increase, its existing storage solution could not keep up. That system was a vendor-neutral archive with on-site SAN/NAS units. However, sending data to the vendor-neutral archive created two PACS and increased the complexity of managing and purging the data.
NewsSeptember 16, 2011 — McKesson Enterprise Medical Imaging will be demonstrating the latest release of its radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2011 meeting.
NewsSeptember 16, 2011 – During RSNA 2011, McKesson will highlight Horizon Cardiology, which enables users to improve quality of care, boost efficiencies and reduce costs while increasing physician and staff satisfaction in the cardiovascular department. It is the only cardiovascular information system (CVIS) with a single database that includes support for all cardiovascular images, waveforms and information, including cardiac and peripheral catheterization, hemodynamics monitoring, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, nuclear cardiology, and electrocardiogram (ECG) management. This unique architecture improves the accuracy and efficiency of the department by eliminating duplicate data entry and supporting parallel workflows.
Case Study | McKessonGreat news! You just received your approved capital budget that includes funding for that much needed radiology information system (RIS) replacement. Unfortunately, the hiring moratorium will prohibit obtaining the full-time resources needed to absorb the incremental work of this complicated and high profile project. The team is already stretched to the max and you are fearful that this new project will push everyone beyond their limits. Executive management expects that as an effective leader, you will find a solution to continue to meet existing SLAs while managing this project on time and budget. It’s pretty overwhelming, isn’t it?
