Primary care providers and hospital doctors around the world can now access the imaging referral guidelines from the U.K.’s Royal College of Radiologists, newly integrated into the OrderWise clinical decision support (CDS) solution created by Canadian CDS company MedCurrent.

MedCurrent Corp. will release MedCurrent CDS Version 3.0, a radiology decision support system designed to meet and exceed the requirements of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) mandate, at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 29-Dec. 3.
At this year’s annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), MedCurrent will introduce a new tool that enables organizations to prospectively understand the impact and return on investment (ROI) of implementing clinical decision support (CDS). CDS will soon become a requirement as a result of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) mandate for hospital radiology departments and imaging centers.
MedCurrent Corp. will debut OrderRight 3.0 at the Radiological Society of North America’s Annual Meeting (RSNA), December 1-5, 2013 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. MedCurrent will exhibit in the South Hall, booth #3106.
At RSNA 2011, MedCurrent will showcase the newest version of OrderRight, the leading medical imaging appropriateness decision support solution. Used by physicians at point of care, this easy-to-use software streamlines care delivery and saves money by automating many of the current manual processes performed by radiology benefit management (RBM) companies. Instead of RBM staff reviewing orders, the CDS system electronically reviews orders and makes comparisons to the system’s rule sets based on the appropriateness criteria from the American College of Radiology (ACR). Feedback is immediately provided to the physician to facilitate ordering of the most medically appropriate procedure.
