Konica Minolta Medical Imaging announced that the 14-by-51-inch long-length cassette assembly for use with the Xpress CR and IQue CR systems is available. The long-length cassette assemblies are designed for digital capture of full-length leg and full-length spine of patients taller than 6 ft. 6 inches with a single exposure.
The devices can capture the whole length of the spine or leg on multiple CR plates simultaneously because it houses three slightly overlapped CR plates. The plates are then inserted onto cassettes of the same size for scanning by the CR reader. Reportedly, stitching software on the Xpress CR and IQue CR Control Stations then connects these individual images as one composite image. Radiologists and orthopedic surgeons can then to easily view and measure the body parts for diagnosis or surgical planning.
