Elekta's eXtend program is a complete system for extending the utilization of Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion.
Providing cross-functional advantages- in both stereotactic radiosurgery and sterotactic radiation therapy- the rigid carbon-fiber construction of the extend frame provides maximum stability, reportedly enabling the most accurate, noninvasive localization available. Physicians can choose a noninvasive fixation method for targets where treatment accuracy is still crucial, but not paramount.
The eXtend is pending FDA 510(k) clearance and is not yet available for commercial sales in the U.S.
