January 25, 2008 - Varian Medical Systems and BrainLAB booked 14 orders, including 10 in the U.S. and four in Europe, for the new Novalis Tx radiosurgical platform, which combines technologies from both companies to offer noninvasive treatment options for patients.
Novalis Tx offers treatment options for variety of indications, including malignant and benign lesions, brain metastases, arteriovascular malformations and functional lesions. It also features dynamic ultra-fine beam shaping and frameless patient positioning designed for more rapid, effective and comfortable treatments. The system allows multiple beam energies from six to 20 million electron volts for treating deep-seated tumors and sparing surrounding healthy.
