March 11, 2008 - Many of the newer model beds and stretchers use frames and drive mechanisms within a few inches of the floor, which means traditional mobile patient lifts can be difficult to use because their legs are too high to extend under these beds, so Liko this week introduced the new Golvo 7007 LowBase model lift.
The company says it circumvents the problem with lower beds and stretchers using a lower total leg height, including wheels, of only 2 1/3 inches.
Liko’s Golvo uses a flexible lift strap, vertical lifting motion, and parallel widening base legs. Originally introduced in 1986, Golvo was one of the first mobile lifts designed with a telescoping mast and lifting strap, enabling patients to be lifted vertically, similar to an overhead ceiling mounted lifting system. The lift can assist patients weighing up to 440 pounds.
