November 25, 2012 — Civco Medical Solutions is debuting its omniTRAX active patient tracker, the next wave in navigation technology, at the 2012 annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
Visible under computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound, Civco provides clinicians automatic image registration of fused images for real-time, uninterrupted navigation using previously acquired CT volume data sets.
Civco's active patient tracker utilizes a two-part system consisting of omniTRAX, a disposable locating device, and a reusable general purpose electromagnetic sensor. Designed for use with GE Healthcare's Logiq E9 XDclear ultrasound platform with navigation technology, omniTRAX features multiple fixed reference points in an accurate 3-D array allowing physicians to quickly and accurately register patient anatomy – providing increased efficiency and reduced procedure time.
Using the Logiq E9 XDclear ultrasound system, omniTRAX allows physicians a reference sensor for immediate image fusion and adjusts with small patient movement such as breathing.
