Viamo

October 27, 2009 - Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. will unveil a new laptop ultrasound system at this year’s Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) annual meeting. The new Viamo (works-in progress) is the industry’s “no compromise” laptop ultrasound system with advanced radiology capabilities that are not available on hand carried systems. The Viamo is ideal for a range of patient exams, including traditional radiology, emergency, OB/GYN, vascular and bariatric.

Toshiba’s Viamo provides the best value in the hand carried class by offering the same premier image quality as larger, more expensive ultrasound systems, but at a lower price point for hospitals. It combines the portability of a laptop ultrasound system with feature-rich, best-in-class radiology capabilities to improve diagnostic confidence.

The Viamo improves patient care by performing high-end radiology exams, which generally require larger, more expensive cart-based systems, at the patient’s bedside or outside the hospital. It offers image quality and color flow comparable to larger, more expensive systems, but in a portable laptop unit.
