September 22, 20009 - CIVCO Medical Solutions and Siemens Healthcare have signed a development agreement for an indexable MR couchtop, compatible with numerous Siemens MR systems: Siemens Magnetom Avanto, Espree, Verio, Symphony a Tim System, and Trio A Tim System.
Siemens and CIVCO plan to launch the new couchtop at ESTRO and ASTRO 2009. The new couchtop is an IPPS overlay safe for the 1.5 and 3T environments and is compatible with CIVCO’s Three-Pin Lok-Bars. All MR compatible CIVCO positioning equipment is also Three-Pin compatible. Bridges are supplied to aid in the positioning relative to the coils.
Siemens is a leading company in developing, manufacturing and selling MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) systems, which are used worldwide for a wide variety of medical indications, including treatment planning for radiotherapy. CIVCO is a leading developer, manufacturer and provider of positioning and immobilization tools for radiation therapy. CIVCO will design and manufacture the couchtop in addition to supporting sales and distribution. CIVCO also manufactures a line of MR compatible accessories called MRSeries.
