Nucletron released three new products designed to improve brachytherapy practice.
Designed for use in brachytherapy treatment of small superficial malignancies, the new Valencia Applicator features a patented flattening filter that is designed to ensure a higher degree of dose homogeneity than previously possible with surface applicators.
The new Source Position Check Ruler, with GAFChromic film, is a quality assurance (QA) tool that reportedly sets proper calibration and operation of a Nucletron brachytherapy system prior to usage for optimal patient treatment.
Nucletron's new CT/MR Compatible Applicator Clamp and Baseplate is designed for use in an MR environment. This device permits the optimal stabilization of CT/MR compatible applicators as well as virtually all other Nucletron body-site solutions and applicators. The clamp's full range of motion is made to allow for simplified patient setup for each treatment fraction. The titanium construction and hydraulic-free design allow for simple cleaning and sterilization.
