New Ultrasound Scanner Gives 4-D Image

Voluson E10 is the latest addition to the Voluson family of ultrasound scanners.

The system uses the same traditional principles of ultrasound that have been used for decades, but uses HDlive software to calculate depth, shape and detail. The system includes noise-removal, image enhancement, color and light.

The scan is in 4-D, the fourth dimension being time where the baby can be seen moving around in real time.

The technology can be used to obtain images of the baby’s blood vessels, heart, brain and other organs.
