February 28, 2008 - A new Analysis Engine by SafeMed debuted at HIMSS 2008, and is designed to perform comprehensive analyses of individual health profiles to help improve the safety, effectiveness and out-of-pocket costs of treatment options.
The decision support tool reportedly identifies, personalizes and prioritizes health data from a multitude of sources. The Analysis Engine targets healthcare providers, payers and consumer health portals. According to SafeMed, the solution has clinical relevancy and the ability to foster behavior change at the point of care. In addition, the rules engine is validated at the point of care by multiple EMR customers (not simply claims-based customers), which the company says has shown physician behavior change with between 8-12 percent of decisions altered.
