The program, which awards up to four $5,000 scholarships annually, will run through 2019.

November 11, 2014 — The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation announced that the Elekta Radiation Therapy Scholarship has been renewed through 2019.

Made possible by a $23,000 annual contribution from Elekta, the program will award up to four scholarships per year valued at $5,000 each. Slated to run from 2015-2019, the scholarship will assist entry-level students enrolled in an accredited radiation therapy educational program.

“We’d like to thank Elekta for their commitment to radiation therapy education and for funding more than 35 scholarships since 2006,” said Phelosha Collaros, ASRT Foundation’s director. “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership to provide students with the support they need to meet their academic and career goals.”

Candidates are selected based on evidence of academic achievement, leadership and financial need. The foundation’s Scholarship Review Committee evaluates scholarship applications and provides recommendations to the board of trustees. The scholarship recipients are then approved by the board of trustees.

Scholarship applications for the 2015-2016 academic year will be available Nov. 1, 2014. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1, 2015.
