May 15, 2008 – Barco formed a strategic alliance with NeuIsys Imaging Systems Solutions to address the gastrointestinal market for virtual colonoscopy using Barco’s advanced visualization software, Voxar 3D ColonMetrix and NeuIsys’s in-office CT systems.

Greensboro, NC-based NeuIsys is an exclusive distributor of Neusoft Medical Systems. Voxar 3D ColonMetrix is a fully-integrated, physician-focused CT colonography software tool that incorporates multiple reading paradigms including 3D review, 3D endoluminal flythrough and a dissected view.

Voxar 3D ColonMetrix provides users with automatic centerline finding and GPU-accelerated flythrough, allowing radiologists and gastroenterologists to fly through prone and supine colon images smoothly and rapidly.

Patient Groups and Doctors Tell Congress to Pass Medicare Virtual Colonoscopy Coverage

The bipartisan bill introduced in the U.S. Senate September 19 would provide Medicare coverage for screening computed tomography colonography (CTC), commonly known as virtual colonoscopy.
