Company will highlight new portable wireless detectors, enhanced workflow software, mobile imaging solutions

Canon and Virtual Imaging Inc. Showcase Newest DR Technologies at AHRA 2017

July 7, 2017 — Canon U.S.A. Inc. and Virtual Imaging Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. Inc., will debut the new Canon series of CXDI digital radiography (DR) detectors at the 2017 Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) annual meeting, July 9-12 in Anaheim, Calif. Canon U.S.A. will showcase the new CXDI-710C Wireless and CXDI-810C Wireless Digital Radiography Detectors, the latest version of the CXDI Control Software NE, and Virtual Imaging's solutions at its booth.

The CXDI-710C Wireless and CXDI-810C Wireless detectors are lightweight so that they can be handled with ease and are portable. The new detectors are ergonomically sculpted and designed with rounded corners to allow users to grip the device comfortably and help position them easily in their workspace. Both detectors have been rated IPX7.

Visitors will also be able to experience other key offerings including:

CXDI Control Software NE

Made exclusively for use with Canon DR systems, this software helps to optimize workflow and reduce the steps needed to complete exams. Among the new features included with the software are compatibility with Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 operating systems, support for McAfee VirusScan Enterprise and AntiSpyware Enterprise 8.8, Windows Defender and ESET Endpoint Antivirus 6.3 software, and shock detection recording and reporting.

DR Tablet Solution

This solution is comprised of a rugged tablet and a Canon wireless CXDI DR System, which includes CXDI Control Software NE. The CXDI Control Software NE's auto-detection mode allows the CXDI detector to automatically detect X-rays at exposure without the use of a typical X-ray generator interface. The tablet's Wi-Fi capability allows users to acquire images from the detector while previous images are simultaneously sent to the picture archiving and communication system (PACS).

RadPRO Mobile 40kW Flex Plus Digital X-Ray System

This digital X-ray system features the telescopic column and fast processing times that make it easy to capture high-quality diagnostic images. The system includes the Enhanced Workflow Package, which is intended to help healthcare professionals save time by accessing existing hospital information system (HIS)/radiology information system (RIS)/PACS and removing unnecessary steps within the exam workflow. This feature also allows users to complete routine imaging tasks from the mobile device, eliminating the need to access healthcare information systems from a dedicated workstation.

Protection Plus Point of Sale Service Program

Canon CXDI detectors purchased from Virtual Imaging are automatically enrolled in Protection Plus Point of Sale for the first year. With this program, the purchased detector is safeguarded against drops and liquid infiltration. With all detector repairs done in the U.S. by Canon-trained engineers, the turn-around time and communication is convenient, cost-effective and fast, according to the company. Among the benefits included with Protection Plus Point of Sale are a free first year of enrollment, unlimited repairs and replacements, and a free loaner detector to be provided upon request during repair time to assist in reducing downtime.
