March 25, 2008 - Covidien will display its new VersaStep PLUS 15mm Bladeless Trocar during the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) 2008 congress March 30-April 3 in Anaheim, CA.
The VersaStep PLUS 15mm Bladeless Trocar is a bladeless laparoscopic access system that has a radially expandable sleeve to minimize the fascial defect and reduce the downward insertion forces associated with normal trocar insertion. It offers the benefits of Covidien's proprietary Step technology, designed to enhance patient safety, saves time in surgery and is proven to reduce the likelihood of complications, including vascular and visceral injuries, the maker said.
The company will also display its new Endo Clip III 5mm Clip Applier and AbsorbaTack Fixation Device.
The Endo Clip III is reportedly the next generation in clip applier technology that offers new standards of consistency, reliability, versatility and performance through numerous advances in design.
The AbsorbaTack Fixation Device is intuitive and bio-absorbable, the maker said. It combines reliable fixation strength and biocompatible absorbability, making it a dependable choice for temporary mesh security in soft tissue repair.
