July 5, 2007 -- Kronos Inc. has announced the general availability of Workforce Central Version 6. This release of the product suite offers new and enhanced capabilities in three key areas that will have a direct impact on healthcare analytics, advanced scheduling and intuitive user interface.

Version 6 adds an enhanced schedule assistant with a call-list feature for hospital staffing managers. In shift-based environments, aligning labor with dynamic workloads is a challenge for managers. Inefficiencies result in rising labor costs, excessive overtime expenses, and diminished customer satisfaction. Workforce Central 6's scheduling engines consider business constraints while automatically generating schedules that accommodate specialized skill sets and employee preferences, thus allowing managers to balance qualifications, coverage needs, and costs to optimize performance at the lowest expense. The advanced scheduling technology also makes it possible to manage compliance with policies, regulations, and union agreements.

The design of Workforce Central 6 takes the entire workforce into consideration with a fresh, modern browser-based user interface to facilitate navigation and use. The new design is focused on providing new users with an instant comfort level to minimize training costs and enhance productivity, while making features and functions more easily accessible for existing users. Color schemes and other style settings can be tailored to adopt customer-specific branding so Workforce Central blends into existing customer computing environments, further minimizing training and speeding adoption.
