Combined managed equipment services and population health services deal provides new technology while maximizing utilization through patient engagement tools

Siemens Healthineers Signs Service Agreement With WhidbeyHealth Community Health System

November 14, 2017 — Siemens Healthineers and WhidbeyHealth of Washington State have signed a ten-year, enterprise-wide agreement focused on better management of the community’s health and wellness through updated imaging equipment, patient engagement tools and population health management solutions. The collaboration provides WhidbeyHealth’s island-wide healthcare system with new technology from the Siemens Healthineers imaging portfolio. In addition, Siemens Healthineers’ Advisory Services division will construct continuous improvement initiatives around patient workflow throughout the entire lifetime of care, utilizing data analytics dashboards and industry best practices.

The agreement also includes patient engagement solutions that actively involve community members in their own care. These solutions, in combination with population health management offerings, mine data to find patients with gaps in care, include an auto-outreach solution that encourages patients to schedule exams at Whidbey, and match schedules of patients with open slots to maximize the utilization of the hospital’s new equipment.

“At WhidbeyHealth, we consider the members of our community our family,” says WhidbeyHealth CEO, Geri Forbes. “Gaining access to the state-of-the-art solutions from Siemens Healthineers is just one of the many things we do to improve the care of the residents we serve on Whidbey Island.”

Critical access hospitals, like 25-bed WhidbeyHealth, provide smaller communities with convenient, high-quality healthcare. In alignment with the holistic and proactive approach to care supported by Siemens Healthineers solutions, WhidbeyHealth can provide best possible outcomes for its patients through the continuum of care.
