August 4, 2015 — Viztek showcased its full portfolio of digital radiography (DR) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) offerings at the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) meeting & exposition in Las Vegas, July 19-22. Leading the Viztek product line-up were the Leggera and ViZion + Wireless DR panels, the U-Arm DR with Ultra software and the IT-enabled Exa PACS solution.

Leggera/ViZion + DR Panels: The complete Viztek line of DR panels are indicated for use in any new or retrofit system. They use passive trigger technology for ease of integration and flexible usage. The panels can be sold as complete new dual detector rooms, u-arms or straight arms as well as retrofit options. Panels come in both cesium and gadolinium technology, in 17x17 fixed, 14x17 wireless and 14x17 tethered options.

U-Arm DR: The U-Arm DR offers high image quality, with greater visualization of soft tissue and bones from the same study exposure. The single workstation system improves productivity and decreases the chance of operator error. The U-Arm also features user-friendly controls, which allow for a more confident diagnosis.

Ultra Software: Introduced at the AHRA 2014 show, Viztek's Ultra DR imaging software broadens capabilities for radiologists and technologists. Ultra allows everything to be done on one screen, improving the overall workflow and allowing more time for patient care. The software is customizable, allowing physicians and technologists to preset the user-friendly controls to capture the preferred views. Also available is the Pediatric Imaging Package, ideal for any facility that is dose conscious and working to align with the goals and recommendations of the American College of Radiology's (ACR's) Image Gently initiative. The system alerts the technologist about the necessary steps to take in order to reduce dose during pediatric exams, while the use of the cesium iodide (CsI) detector enables excellent image quality at lower doses.

Exa PACS: Exa PACS is built on the latest in information technology (IT) advancements to provide a user-friendly platform that efficiently manages data. The fully Web-based PACS platform is supported on any device, enabling immediate, remote access to full PACS functionality for radiologists. Now radiologists have the ability to read any study on a single workstation, creating a streamlined workflow. The Exa PACS also integrates with Viztek's Exa EHR (electronic health record) to store and share data required for Meaningful Use and for access to a patient's complete medical history, providing a more informed diagnosis. The intelligent linking feature between the EHR and PACS prevents physicians from manually searching for outside comparison images.
