February 6, 2008 - Infinitt North America reported $8 million in RIS and PACS contracts for the Q407, more than three times that in the fourth quarter of 2006, crediting contract renewals with existing customers and the edition of new contracts.
The five-year renewal contracts are on the all-inclusive EIMS (Electronic Image and Information Management Solution) program, which allows the hospital or imaging center to pay for the system and service on a per study basis also played a large part in the company’s success in 2007.
Ongoing upgrades are part of the company's EIMS RIS/PACS solution. Infinitt NA customers who implemented this program five years ago have already had hardware and software upgrades to incorporate advanced features and address technology obsolescence.
The INFINITT RIS/PACS is built on a relational database that eliminates the need for an interface between modules. It is designed to streamline radiology workflow from patient registration to final report approval. The single-database RIS/PACS provides on-demand image access and a dual online archive to prevent system downtime. It reduces manual data entry and the high error rates associated with it, while simplifying administrative and security functions, according to the company. In addition, the INFINITT system offers full access to advanced visualization features, real time system monitoring and embedded reporting, document scanning, digital dictation and speech recognition capabilities.
