February 3, 2014 — Medical Insight’s EasyViz was selected in a robust program initiated in Denmark where improved efficiency in patient care is being demonstrated. Two regions in Denmark have realized their strategic vision using a vendor neutral archive (VNA) paired with EasyViz, an enterprise diagnostic viewer for radiologists, clinicians, radiographers and more. Radiologists and clinicians in 14 hospitals can access clinical exams in seconds directly or from any Internet application. This eliminates the need and time for radiologists and clinicians to take geography, IT infrastructure and workstations into consideration.

The configuration reduces the number of retakes and the spent on sharing studies and images between hospitals and regions, which saves money. Instant access and the ability to search and share means increased efficiency and streamlined patient care.

Through the development of serverside rendering and use of advanced adaptive streaming technology,  EasyViz provides instant access to DICOM-quality images and reports at any location. EasyViz  permits clinicians inside and outside of the hospital environment to access images instantly. EasyViz also allows complete mobile access to images, analysis tools and reports at any location, at any time and on any platform or device.

“Built in telemedicine functionalities further enable radiologists and clinicians to collaborate in multidisciplinary team sessions in real-time, even with specialists outside their home region,” said Dr. Gregersen, head of radiology, Region Nord, Denmark.

VNA advancements may contribute to a decline in the use of PACS
