New KLAS report reveals integration trumps functionality when it comes to oncology solutions

October 17, 2014 — Elekta is surging while Varian is on the decline when it comes to how each oncology solution performs. A new KLAS study — "Oncology 2014: Integration Is Key" — found that integration is top of mind for providers wanting to better leverage oncology solutions.

The report also reveals the strengths and weaknesses of both best-of-breed and enterprise vendors and explores trending around workflow automation and integration with patient portals.

"The performance gap is widening between best-of-breed vendors," said report author Monique Rasband. "At the same time, providers still see shortfalls when it comes to integrating and interfacing with EMRs."

Nearly 250 providers from 214 organizations weighed in on the performance of vendors including Allscripts, Cerner, Elekta, Epic, GE Healthcare, IntrinsiQ, McKesson, Medfusion, Navigating Cancer, Orion Health, RelayHealth and Varian.

The report is available to healthcare providers and vendors. Providers receive a significant discount off the standard retail price or can receive a complimentary summary report in exchange for a survey about their current vendors.
