May 31, 2007 – United Medical Systems recently announced that it will work with Kubtec to introduce the XPERT Mobile radiography system for imaging breast biopsy cores and surgically excised tissue specimens, reportedly the first specimen radiography system available with an eight-by-eight inch camera.
The XPERT Mobile contains a 16-bit contrast resolution and 1.0 mA X-ray source output, enabling the view of more accurate images. The system reportedly has zero warm-up time and minimum calibration requirements, adding to its ability to acquire images in a few seconds and send them directly to PACS. Its Compact size, user-friendly software and standard AC power requirements allow the XPERT Mobile to be conveniently located and operated in most medical environments.
