February 25, 2008 - Virtual Radiologic Corp. presented at HIMSS 2008 its vRad Enterprise Connect, an enterprise-class distributed workflow platform designed to fit the needs of large radiology groups and organizations that would like to develop a teleradiology program.
The system includes a rules-based workflow engine that automatically routes reads based on physician availability, hospital/clinic/practice privileges and subspecialty expertise. It also has a tele-RIS/PACS platform that provides unified or individual worklists for load balancing and monitoring interpretations across available physicians.
An integrated radiologist portal auto-launches images from worklists and includes voice recognition and macros and a report-generation function allows interpretation delivery via fax, Web portal or HL-7 integration.
